Overview

Golzy's typing makes it super-effectively hit enemy Tems that can also hit Golzy super-effectively. Golzy does not always hit first with its melee moves, and relies very heavily on synergy to access priority electric moves. This means Golzy does not always get to move first, and thus it can struggle to check (or even survive) enemies it technically has an offensive advantage over. As a result, Golzy is often put in an awkward position, requiring careful piloting to be used effectively. However, it still hits very hard, and very few tems can resist both its Melee and Electric attacks, making it dangerous to leave unchecked.

As other forms of scaling have been weakened, Golzy's raw, out-of-the box power has served it well post-0.9.4 patch. Arbury gave it Hasty Lunge, which combines with Adrenaline Shot to solve Golzy's biggest previous problem, that it was too slow to beat prio and not bulky enough to tank many hits. Now, Golzy is free to play fast and damaging sets without much worry.

While Golzy does have some setup techniques like Rage or Show Off, and some useful utility in Charged Iron Filings, Defiblerate, and Cage, this tem is at its best when it is delivering targeted, focused beatdowns on a single target, and all four of the techniques above do so. Adrenaline Shot will usually be used up by Hasty Lunge before Golzy runs out of stamina, but if not, it does a great job of helping keep the train going there, too.

Neutrals and natures are the name of the game with Golzy - synergy makes Hasty Lunge not consume Adrenaline Shot, while Sparkling Bullet nearly doubles in output next to a neutral.
